Hackathon placeholder — not legal advice.
These terms and conditions are for the SheBuilds hackathon only and need further review by a lawyer. They are plain-language placeholders written to demonstrate Tender Health’s intent and approach to privacy. They are NOT legally reviewed and must NOT be relied upon for a public launch or any real-world collection of patient health information. Before Tender Health is made available to the public, these documents require review by a qualified privacy/health-data lawyer for compliance with applicable laws, including Canada’s PIPEDA and Ontario’s PHIPA.
1. Our approach: privacy by default
Tender Health is built to need as little of your personal information as possible. You can use the entire tool without an account and without giving your name or email. When you use it this way, your health notes are not stored — they exist only during your session and are gone when you close the tab.
2. What we collect
If you use Tender Health without an account:
- Your health notes are processed during your session to build your picture.
- Nothing is stored after your session ends. Nothing is tied to your identity.
If you choose to create an account (to save your pictures):
- We collect your email (or Google sign-in) and the health pictures you choose to save.
- This lets you return to your saved pictures. You can request deletion at any time.
If you join the waitlist:
- We collect your email, used only to contact you about future features.
3. How AI processing works
The information you share is sent to a third-party AI service to generate your picture. This processing is what makes the tool work. We do not sell your information. [Specific third-party providers and their data handling — e.g. the AI and voice-transcription services — to be named and reviewed before public launch.]
4. Voice input
If you use voice, your speech is transcribed into text by a third-party transcription service. The same storage rules above apply: nothing is kept after your session unless you have an account and choose to save.
5. What we do NOT do
- We do not email your health information to you or anyone else.
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not attach your health notes to your identity unless you create an account and choose to save them.
6. Your choices
- Use the tool anonymously (no account).
- Download or print your picture to keep it yourself, rather than saving it with us.
- If you have an account, request deletion of your saved data.
7. Canadian context
Tender Health intends to comply with Canada’s PIPEDA and Ontario’s PHIPA. This placeholder has not yet been reviewed for that compliance. A qualified privacy/health-data lawyer must review this before any public launch. [Placeholder — requires legal review.]
